From Turin, you will enjoy this few day tour in the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato region, home of the Barolo and the other well-known wines. During this bike tour of the Langhe area, you will see beautiful hilly landscapes covered by vineyards, contemporary design wine cellars and excellent quality of red and white wines.
8 DAYS BIKING
Day 1: Milan, Alessandria
After your arrival at the Milan Malpensa airport, you will be transferred to the city of Alessandria where you will spend your first day visiting the city or just relaxing at your hotel.
Day 2: Alessandria, Acqui Terme
On this day, you will ride for a few miles along the Strada Franca, an ancient road dating back to 1454. You will pass across smooth hills, woods and small isolated villages where you will be able to taste local products and excellent local wines like the Barbera and the Dolcetto d’Acqui. You will end the ride in the town of Acqui Terme, which nickname is ‘La Bollente’ (hot) because of its spring thermal waters.
Day 3: Acqui Terme, Alba
Today you will cycle across the famous Langhe hills, the countryside and the vineyards as well as the splendid small villages of Montabone, Rocchetta Palafea, and Canelli. The today tour ends in Alba, home of the most precious of the truffles, the Tartufo Bianco (the white truffle), and of the famous wine “Dolcetto d’Alba”.
Day 4: Alba, Asti
Your start of the route will be through vineyards and along panoramic paths which will eventually take you to Asti in the heart of Monferrato. Don’t miss to visit the historical center with its famous towers, the Romanesque monuments, and the splendid Gothic cathedral.
Day 5: Asti
Today you can have another day cycling across the Asti hills and their nature parks or you can take a break and visit Turin, the capital of Piedmont.
Day 6: Asti, Casale Monferrato
This fifth day takes you to Casale Monferrato. Take advantage of the hospitality of the wine cellars and restaurants along the way, which offer an excellent Eno gastronomical choice.
Day 7: Casale Monferrato, Alessandria
Today is the last day of this wonderful bike tour. Before to return to Alessandria, you will be cycling across green hills and cultivated lands, passing through small villages on the right side of the Po river.
Day 8: Alessandria, Milan
You can spend more days in Italy or you can be transferred from your hotel in Alessandria to the Milan airport.
